Download MovieJig 1.0b2 -- BETA

MovieJig is a jigsaw puzzle game that lets you play different jigsaw puzzles with any picture, movie or QTVR file you like.

" Michael's MovieJig allows you to deconstruct cinema firsthand. The puzzle's numerous dimensions are awesome- and offer the opportunity for people to dissassemble cinematic reality." -jdpf

From the README:

The example puzzles are included in the "puzzles" folder. Just double-click one of those files to open it, and play away! You can then save your game and continue it later.

This program has balloon help. Use it if you're wondering what a menu command does.

Making Puzzle Description Files (for the technically-minded only!):

To make new puzzle description files, first make a picture describing the pieces you want the puzzle to have. When you use such a picture with this program, it will build a piece off of every color, so don't make borders unless you want them to be pieces. Black pieces aren't drawn -- they become part of the background. So each individual color will be mapped to a puzzle piece. Save this picture with your favorite resource editor in PICT id 128. If you want to make the pieces animate, you'll have to save the rest of the pictures in the next resource ids (129, 130, etc). Next add the media you want to map on to the pieces. The easiest way to get a new puzzle running is to save another picture in id 1000 (it doesn't matter what it is), then open the puzzle with MovieJig and import your movie or other picture, then to save the puzzle again to finish the job.

What You Need:
System 7.5 or better, and a pretty fast mac if you want it to be smooth.
This binary is FAT, so it should run fine on older machines.

Known bugs:
The click&drag panning for QTVR movies doesn't seem to work quite right.
MovieJig is not wholly Carbon compliant. It does seem to work fine for MacOS 9, though.
